Ethereal.  Spiritual.  Iconic.

Joyce Tenneson's style of portraiture is immediately recognizable.

In her studio, she creates an atmosphere in which rapport is established, so she can reach beneath the surface of her subjects to reveal the inner essence that makes her portraits so magical. Over her extensive career, Tenneson has photographed well known celebrities as well as interesting people she discovers in diverse locations — from the subway to the streets.

Tenneson’s unique approach to portraiture attracted the attention of leading publications such as Time, Entertainment Weekly, and The New York Times Magazine, for whom she created many memorable cover images.  Her work also has been exhibited around the world in over one hundred fine art exhibitions.
